Caroma a dual winner at the GreenPlumbers® Awards with innovative

Caroma Profile™ picked up both the GreenPlumbers® Water Efficient Product of the Year and the
GreenPlumbers® overall Product of the Year awards.
Profile™ is the first of its kind to feature a unique, dual-flush push button and spout arrangement that saves the water normally used when hands are washed in a separate basin. The flush cycle activation controls the flow of fresh water through the basin spout, allowing time for thorough hand washing before the same water fills the cistern tank. Award-winning Smartflush® technology is also built-in for ultra low 4.5/3L flushing.
“We first looked at this concept 10 years ago, to examine the merits of using water twice without the need for a treatment process at all,” said Dr Steve Cummings, Manager Research and Design at Caroma Dorf, upon accepting the awards.
“We then built and trialled it in Brisbane and over time proved the viability of the concept and the technology. In fact those test units are still in operation to this day.”
Water savings of over 70% are achieved compared to an 11L single flush toilet suite and separate hand basin, over 17% water savings are achieved compared to a standard dual flush toilet suite 6/3L and separate hand basin and water savings of over 10% are achieved compared to the industry leading Smartflush toilet suite technology 4.5/3L and separate hand basin.
